The rules of interpretation (Qawȃid at tafsȋr) as formulated by Khalid Utsman al-Sabt are a series of general rules that lead an interpreter to use the meanings of the Qur'an al Azhim and recognize how to obtain or produce that understanding itself. It can be understood that the rules of interpretation are the basic rules governing the procedures for interpreting the Qur'an which must be carried out by the mufassir in producing the correct interpretation. So that if you do not have guidelines in interpreting, it can result in failure of the meaning of the interpretation of the Qur'an to be conveyed.
In interpreting the verses of the Qur'an, there are basic norms of interpretation, which must be understood and become guidelines by the interpreter, even though the tafsir scholars themselves have different points of view in determining the rules of interpretation. In this paper, the rules in the interpretation of the Qur'an will be explained and described in the types and models.
